Tours In the Extreme Extreme-Laos Guestbook

Went in 2008, had a blast, met a bunch of great guys. Ben is an awesome tour guide. He keeps the group moving without a itinerary that tells you were to be every 5 minutes.

Not to mention Cambodia is filled with really friendly people. Loved the country, loved the tour.

2009,2010 and now 2011, 3 times round a beautiful country with some of the best people you will ever meet. 2000kms of dirt and dust, nights on the floor of the jungle, no washing for days, the constant threat of ben and his fu*king firecrackers. you would be stupid to miss it!! bring on 2011!!!!

Have been on quite a few rallies with Ben, he is a man mountain, gives his all on having a good time and god help you if you get in front of him on the track, HE WILL USE YOU FOR TRACTION. Like he says, you want comfort and set schedules (ie, boring ) go with some other company. You want to ride and see Cambodia ride with Ben and Leng. You will get back a hundred times what you put in.

The extreme rally raid 2006 was amazing! i have personally guided many trips in Canada, Australia, Mexico, Thailand, and Japan. im no rookie when it come to a long days ride!

despite not being in control of the route or the time frame (being guided rather then guiding) Cambodia was by far the most epic trip i have ever done! amazing country, amazing people, amazing ride!!

my hat is off to Ben, Lang and the Cambodian people. 4 years on i still think back on Cambodia daily or weekly. best $2000 i have ever spent!

What's more to add than is already being said... I - like others, had never put myself out of my comfort zone as much as I did
when I did the 2007 tour, but let me tell you, if I can do it - absolutely anyone can! This event turned out to be one of the most
rewarding, challenging and exciting holidays of my life. Met a bunch of Amazing of people, really sound blokes and have memories
and stories that will stay with me a life time.. If you are feeling nervous and unsure whether you should partake in it yourself -
like I was before I booked..Do yourself a favour and just do it, I promise you - you will not regret it! Thanks to Ben and Lang and
all the riders who took part in that tour for making it such an unforgettable experience. I'll be back again one day!

The 8th Annual Extreme Rally Raid was about as far out of my comfort zone as i have ever put myself, but i wouldn't trade the experience for anything. It was bloody fantastic. Ben's a legend and did a great job of navigating Cambodia.. & Lang was priceless as sweep rider picking up the pieces( namely me, the crappyest rider). ALL the riders where great companions, with special thanks to Aaron for sharing his headlight, & Anthony for helpful advice. If its an adventure you crave

I just did the 2005 rally raid. Cambodia only has two seasons I think, dust and mud. The dust was crazy, but the mud would have been terminal judging by the roads. But that's why we went there. Coming from Tanzania, remote adventuring is not new, but what we saw and experienced with Ben "Crocodile Dundee" Laffer was astounding. Riding besides minefields to the temples and ruins in sand at night on dodgey little 250's was exciting. So if you've got the balls for adventure, mark this one as a must.

One additional comment: If you should decide to go on the Extreme Rally bring gear. Boots, dirt helmet, knee protection chest protection. I made the mistake of attending a Rally without these and it is just not a good idea. Cambodia is not the place to be without the good protection goodies. Don't cheap out like I did thinking you will save a couple of dollars. You will only regret it later. I did the 2004 Rally

Angkor Dirt is an outstanding dirt biking tour organization. Easily among the best in southeast Asia. I have been on now two different tours with Angkor Dirt and it is always an outstanding challenge. The Extreme Rally is not to be missed if you can hang on for the duration. I will attend the Rally in January of 2005 and I'm very much looking forward to good fun, good beer and good friends. Cambodia really is Nirvana for dirt bike riding!!
